I was able to cut the swim to 32 minutes for this event, getting closer to really racing!
On the ride, I took off with a nice gradually increasing effort, bike was 1:07:25 (22.3mph) ok.. I didn't do to well on the run after burning up to many times passing cars. This was a lesson learned for sure on this race. Stick to even pacing rather than fry myself passing anything (car, tractor, or competitor)...
The traffic was frustrating a few times, so I ended up flying passed a handful of vehicles. I must have died a bit, as one gal I ened up playing leap frog with ened up going way ahead of me after I caugh her at around mile 20.
I got passed on the run by Jimbo, after I helped him at transition when he got lost. But then I caught him and ran back the last few miles with him. I decided to just run all the way back with him out of sheer respect, as he has helped me a lot in getting started in the Tri world. He is an inspiration for sure...
So glad that someone got this pic of us near the finish. We have identical times at the finish!!
