Last March I stumbled on a name in Triathlete Training. It was Phil Skiba. I wrote this and a few other names down for future reference. As I was talking training with a guy in the Tri shop, a I ask if he heard of this Skiba. He said he never heard of him, but turned me on to Phil Mafetone. So I followed the Mafetone way while reading up on Triathletes Training Bible to figure out this "periodization" I kept hearing about. So after some Mafetone base and doing the Joe Friel way to peak with periodization, I hear about Skiba again. Power and Pace. We've got to get going with power and pace. This is from Rob Chance. So I order the books and get studying. Now I am getting closer to rolling with power and pace. I figured my pace for running. Then later acquired a power meter and recently did a 20 minute time trial on my road bike. Now need to get a 3 minute all out effort to get my zones. I retested my four minute run a few days ago and will figure my 5k time next week. Then I can recalculate my pace zones.
